Cannot create a new fiscal year with error prior year must be closed first

Hi dear AX users,

I am just trying to create a new fiscal year for 2017 but I am getting the following error message: To create a new fiscal year starting on 01/01/2017, the fiscal year starting on 01/01/1999 must be closed first.

When I go to fiscal year starting on 01/01/1999 : period start on 01/01/1999, end on 01/01/1999 status is closed, and period start on 01/01/1999, end on 31/01/1999 status is closed, all other periods in 1999 have been stopped.

Have you ever encountered similar errors and do you have any ideas how to resolve this?

I checked it in AX 2012, there is a country specific functionality that would cause this error. This is related to France.
There is a parameter “Limited number of open fiscal years” in ledger and the error is dependent on it.
I don’t have AX 4.0 to check.

Hi Kranthi, I’m in AX2012 something similar happens to me, I’m trying to have a calendar from january 2016 to december 2020, but the working time always start from Jan-10-2017 I can’t manage to have previous working days visible in my calendar. Where is the parameter you mention? I can’t find it

This parameter is specific to France and you can only see this in a legal entity that is tied to France.
