Cannot Activate Standard Cost

I am trying to activate a standard cost for an item and I receive the following error.

“The standard cost cannot be changed. Financial transaction is posted at a later date.”

Has anyone seen this error before or can you offer any tips to resolve it ?

It looks like you are trying to activate a new cost for a date were you have posted transactions. Make sure the date for your new price is after the date of your posted transactions.
