We are currently trying to upgrade from Navision 2.0 to 3.7 and our NSC says” “When upgrading items that use serial numbers, it will not be possible to use these items going forward. New items will have to be created manually in Navision. The reason for this is that an item tracking code needs to be assigned to this type of items. Since it is not possible to assign an item tracking code to items with existing item ledger entries new items will have to be created.” We have 1647 serialized items currently, we do not want loose that much sales history, nor change numbers on that many items. Anybody have a work around? Also, if we can’t upgrade those items going forward, what will happen when we navigate from a old posted invoice that has one of those part numbers on it. Won’t there be inconsistencies in our database.
This is news to me, but I have never tried to upgrade 2.0 to 3.7…Is it something there?
We did a couple of upgrades (Navision 2.0 to 3.7) where serial numbers were used in version 2.0. Everything worked!!
