BI cognos Navision 2013 connector

Hi,

My customer have a need to do some query on navision database.

He need to access directly on Navision databae with a cognos BI.

Did you know if there is a connector between Cognos BI and Navision 2013.

i don’t know how cognos work. and i must find a solution to meet my customer need.

did you have any idea of how we can connect Navision database to cognos?

I know there is a Cognos connector for SAP but I haven’t found anything for NAV.

In one of my previous installations Cognos accessed directly to NAV SQL tables without any connector needed.

can you telle me pls how you connect cognos to Nav sql tables??

when we use cognos BI on Navision table is that creates latency on Navision database ?

I have a Navision database shared by several countries. and the nedd to do BIis for one country. so i must deny the access to the others tables of another countries.

We just created a dedicated user in sql and, via user mapping (in SQL Mgmt Studio → Database → [Db name] → Security → Logins → [Cognos user] → Right click → Properties → User Mapping) granted reading access only on the target database.
