Batch Numbers and Serial Numbers during Purchase and Sales

Purchase:

SETUP:

1.Dimension Group with Batch No and Serial Number.

2.Batch No Group is Automatic and a Number series is assigned.

3.Serial No Group assigned is Manual.

Transaction:

Purchase Order Receipts for the Qty, say, 10 Nos.

Creating Packing Slip against Purchase Order:

· Using Registration, Qty is Split into 10 Lines and Serial Numbers are assigned Manually for the Qty.

· However, Batch Number for all 10 Lines, is kept Blank.

Packing Slip is Posted.

When Transaction against the Packing Slip are viewed, System assigns Different Batch Numbers for each of the Serial Numbers, instead of Single Batch Number for the entire Qty.

Please reply as to how a Single Batch No for the Total Qty gets assigned with above Set Ups.

SALES:

The Sales Order Qty would be in the Range of thousands. As such during dispatches, customer requirement is to select the at a time, instead of individual One WHICH IS TIME CONSUMING.

FURTHER, THE BATCH NUMBER FOR THE SELECTED SERIAL NUMBER SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE SELECTED BASED ON SERIAL NUMBER.

Please reply as to how the above one is achieved.

You have defined serial AND lots, if it is only LOTS you do not record serial numbers for each so you get one batch, if you need a batch and serial numbers the lines have to be split to show the serial numbers.

You cannot as standard select a range of serial numbers, you would need to modify this.

In Navision yes, but maybe in Axapta its possible [;)]

Sorry, I read the active postings and sometimes miss the forum. Please ignore EVERYTHING I have said, as David says that refers to Navision. Thank you for pointing that out David. [:$]

Hi,

In case of the Purchase Order, before doing registration of the 10 qty, create a Batch No from the Batch master

In the Registration screen, in the transaction section Batch no field select the new batch no created from the list and then auto generate serial no lines which will appear in register now section then do the posting

This should solve your problem
