AX 2012 - Accouting distribution


In what business scenario the acounting distribution is useful? It looks like just providing a differnet way to post to different ledger accounts?


An expense is purchased into an expense account, lets say electricity, and you hold your power in separate accounts, then you can distribute this by department automatically by setting up the distribution on set percentages between department related accounts - but most would dimension control this. Depends upon the requirement really.
