auto sequence number question

hello,

i’ll try to describe my problem hope you’ll understand …

let’s say i’m open new sales order, just pressed new, i get a number so123456, but haven’t insert any data, hust press new

now i go to drink coffee,

my collegue (who didn’t came with me) keeps openning sales orders and get the next numbers so123457, so123458 …

now i got back to my office and pressed cancel, my number was so123456 , now i lost the sequence and have no data on this sales order, also if someone looks at the sequence and see the missing nu,ber don’t understand why there is a missing number,

this issue is in every form in the system, it’s very important for me on non conformence and otheres form

can i save this data on log in the database, or alerts …

any idea ?

This is expected and correct behavior. You can, if you have to, set the number sequence as continuous and AX will reuse the number later (if it’s correctly returned to the pool). Nevertheless you should avoid it unless necessary, because performance of continuous sequences is worse than in the case of non-continuous ones.
