Assembly Orders are internal Orders are used to generate sellable Items (which are called assembly Items). Assembly BOM consists of multiple Item and Resource costs and the assembly process is dealing with the logistics flow quite well.
In our scenario, Few Assembly BOM components are not Purchasable Items.
Ex. 104 Item (which is not available in main Assembly BOM), goes out for subcontracting works and comes as Assembly BOM item no 103. Then how to calculate an assembly items cost at all levels especially 3rd party (Subcontracted) Item.
