Hi, No, They do not serve the same pupose. With Variants, You can not capture Locationwise/Variantwise costs for the same item. With SKU , It is possible. Hope this major difference helps you decide. Another difference comes in Planning. With Variants, Planning is not very flexible. With SKU, It is. Regards, DD

Hi, With SKU you can define cost, Physical counting norms and planning parameters which can be different from the main Item. This will not be possible only with Variant. However, you can define an SKU for such a variant and then define above parameters. Vijay
