about cronus database

hi, i just download nav 2013 R2 and still a newbie.

when i log in to NAV, the Nav ask a server name and password. my friend in my company tell me the pass is ******* and the server is ***** and in cloud.

I am wondering now, how about if i want to use cronus database… ?

should i install sql server in order to work with cronus ?

please forgive my ignorance if this question is so silly…

thanks

Hello,

If u install it as demo, then the installer will install SQL Server Express, and your database will be Cronus.

Thanks for your reply,

I tried to install it or adding a new component that is “demo” database, but the installer give me error… something like “must use windows 64 bit to instal sql express 2012”

should i only use windows 64 bit really?

Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server only runs on 64-bit editions of the following versions of Windows:

Windows 8 Professional or Enterprise.

Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise.

Windows Server 2012.

 Windows Server 2012 Essentials.

Windows Server 2008 R2.

how about client??

what i am using is nav client right ? how to use cronus database then ??

is there any server online providing cronus database? i am so confused… :frowning:

The server must be 64 bit, but the client could be 32 or 64.

but when you install the demo, your PC will have the three tires together, i.e. you will have the client installed automatically…
