Dear All, I would like to ask you to ask you about service item. I create service order for an item consists of 2 parts in its BOM. If I sell the item and I have set service item gorup before hand, the service item will be created automatically and there will be also a checkmark in the service item component field on general tab in the service item card. In the service item worksheet,I change one of parts to be a new part then select finished, posting SO and invoice. When I check back, the checkmark is gone/empty. Also, the component list is empty. Why did it happened ? meanwhile, before servicing is taking place, the checkmark exists. [?] Pls reply asap and tks beforehand. Rgds, mark
Hi Mark Can you tell me the BOM component settings as the service item components are only created under set circumstances once the item is created and it was not previously a service item. Also are you exploding the BOM on the sales order? I believe it needs to be exploded but I cannot remember off the top of my head. I would however suggest it would not be ticked and then the service items would disappear during processing.

I wasn’t exploding the BOM in the SO, but I checked the field create service item in the service item group table and I put 2 items in the BOM assembly when I want to sell the product item. tks for your ans. Rgds, Mark
I believe you need to explode the BOM to get the service item creation with components. I believe even if you have a BOM it will not create the service item components attached to the service item as there is no specific relationship between the BOM compnonents and the service items. For exasmple the box the goods are in maybe on the BOM, but it is clearly not a service item.
