If YOU would have to choose between Navision DB-server and Microsoft’s SQL. What would be pro-s and contras of each of them? Looking at the price list of granules i notice that Microsoft is trying to push MSSQL server thru. They are gonna loose Navi DMBS?
With SQL Server, u can perform more restrictions on user permissions plus the DB Size is unlimited in SQL Server. Cheers

Performance wise – navision DB is definitely fast. Size wise — Sql Server DB is preferred You must Analyze the client application , if the database is going to increase tremedously in future, One should choose sql server.
You might also consider SQL if You have a lot of integration to do. If not so heavy integration and moderate number of users and data growth I recommend C/SIDE. Much more performance for the money spent and tremendously easy to maintain.

Both! MS is going to support native in the future (they are not allowed to force SQL to existing customers), but will promote SQL. You can see it already now: session killer for example is only available on SQL…
One more advantage, with SQL option u can put multiple DBs, All with multiple Companies like the native Navision DB.
