We’re planning to have the 6 following countries on the same 3.60 Native Database (running over Citrix for the remote connections) : Belgium Denmark Germany Italy Spain France Do you have any client which have these countries in one single DB ? Is there any accounting (ie: VAT issues) or incompatiblity having these 6 countries sharing the same objects ? My other concern is performance as we’re using the Warehouse module in France.
Hi Tarek, We have a client who is running a single Navision 2.60 system over Citrix with (amongst others) companies in Denmark, Germany and France. We have not been asked to make any changes to the handling of VAT etc, so I assume this is all OK. It helps that the Navision product champion at the client is very “on the ball”. [:)]
Hi Tarek, We have the following countries in one SQL DB:
- NL
- Germany
- France
- Spain
- Italy
- UK
- Sweden
- Denmark
- Australia
- Singapore
- Hong Kong
A total of 16 companies… They are all runing Citrix Metaframe. We are using a 3.70.a World Wide version. The major issues in regards to VAT was in Italy, where we had to change quite a lot, as it was not done correctly with the W1 version. It was a legal issue in both Singapore and Australia that we renamed the VAT field captions to GST (was done dynamically using the CaptionClass functionality). But there has been no incompatibility issues that could not be solved by programming.
Do you use the Warehouse module in more than 2 countries ?
We don’t use the Warehouse module in any of the countries mentioned.–
What are the specs of your servers(RAM, HD, Speed) ? Navision DB Size?
We have the following countries in one Native Navision Database: NL Germany France (Paris) Italy UK Sweden Belgium Tjechie Slovakia Zwitserland A total of 20 companies… Going to 150 users end of this year They are all running Citrix Metaframe. 2 Citrix servers running running on English W2000. One citrix servers for CZ, SK running CZ windows 2000 software to solve the Codepage problems. We are using a 3.70.a World Wide version (all English). I agree with Eric, the major issues are regarding VAT issues. The Navision database is running on a Compaq DL380 2 Giga Ram Hard. Do not use Hard disk Raid 5, use Hard disk raid 1. Navision database size (10 Giga). we are busy to implement the manufacturing for NL,D,Uk by the end of this year.
